Awww... Look what Em just sent me! A picture of her and the girl...a few years back. Such a sweet picture. I can almost smell my girl's kid shampoo. So precious. Thanks Em!! XXX
Twitter is an odd tool, and I can't believe that I enjoy it as much as I do! Through Twitter, I've connected with a wildly helpful group of educators that has become so important to me in my professional life--people that I "know" only online, but that I've come to trust and rely on as my authentic personal learning network.
I follow a few other people on Twitter as well, some friends IRL (in real life), and a few that I think of as friends, even though we've never met. It's an odd thing, these virtual friends--most of my local friends/family think I'm just weird.
Here's a short audio clip about a virtual friend of mine in England--a lady that I have grown quite fond of. Her Twitter name is Granumentally (grandmother of Documentally, who does the typing for her when he visits). Read and listen to her story, and her grandson's here.
Anyway, below is a recent audio clip--a bittersweet observation by a devoted grandson. I think we can all learn from it. Thanks for sharing, @Documentally and @Granumentally !
The Artist in Residence had several pieces selected for the Dean's display case in the Art Building this spring! Here are a couple of them. They were taken with a cell phone, so they're not great pics. The art is wonderful though! Don't you agree? :) Proud moment.
Didn't have to travel too far for this one...what a silly man. :o)

Notice the Ike water line. Guess they also decided that a Red Cross headquarters might be a useful addition in the area too. Hmmm...
Is that elvis' face in the rope? Weird.

This is a 4-masted sailboat in Galveston Bay--one of the largest, evidently. It wasn't the Elissa--the one that's usually there. Anyway, big. Boat. Sails.
Statue near the Strand by Galveston Bay.
Dad in the wind near a golden-breasted woman! heehee
My thumb adds a certain je ne sais quoi to the composition of this photo, don't you agree?
Em and Dad. Nice afternoon among old friends.
Lots of gigantic jelly fish were all over the place! I don't remember seeing them this big in Galveston before.
Look at the Ike beach erosion line on the pillars in front of Em. Almost as tall as me.
Thought this was going to be a good picture, but I couldn't see very well with my camera. Oh well. He's still my favorite boyfriend.
Fun Day!
Does he look just the tiniest bit like Pops in Vacation Mode? heehee
Mmm. . . Gaido's--in Galveston since 1911. Our meal was just delicious!
Dad says hi too!
Em says hi! Xxx
mmm. . . Fresh crab cakes! These are the best things I've ever put in my mouth! Gaido's in Galveston. Go there! yummmmmmm.....
Yet another amazing application--this time, an iPhone ocarina orchestra from Stanford. Asst. Professor Ge Wong created an iPhone app that turns the device into an ocarina--the player blows into the microphone and moves fingers as if on a wind instrument to make music. Wow.
